Challenges faced by the Diversity Segment
The diversity segment encounters immense challenges in society, ranging from discrimination to limited access to opportunities, leading to social exclusion, economic disadvantage, and feelings of isolation. These hurdles can deeply affect their lives and well-being, underscoring the urgent need for collective efforts to create a more equitable and inclusive world that values and celebrates diversity in all its forms.
Discrimination in education, employment, housing, and healthcare for the diversity segment hinder their access to equal opportunities and rights in both professional and personal settings, creating significant challenges and obstacles for Women, LGBT community and differently abled individuals. Sexual harassment and assault for all the diversity segment in the workplace or elsewhere, has a profound impact on their mental health and well-being, often causing significant trauma and distress. Stigma and prejudice towards under represented tribe has resulted in social isolation and discrimination, posing significant challenges to their integration and well-being in society.
Despite efforts to address these issues, much more needs to be done to create a truly inclusive society where everyone has a fair chance to reach their full potential.
THE NEED OF THE HOUR
NEED is an initiative that was born out of this problem and is an endeavor spearheaded by Ourea (Oureansoul Pvt. Ltd.) that attempts to foster, enrich, and enable the multifarious sector.
Our programs are specifically designed to uplift various groups, including Women, LGBT, and differently-abled individuals through networking events, mentorship, and training sessions. Additionally, we provide assistance in securing employment opportunities as well as aiding in the expansion of entrepreneurial ventures and highly aims to restore health for a better world to diversified community.
Achieving gender equality and empowering diversified segment is crucial to the attainment of all 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Only by ensuring the rights of the diversified segment all across globe only that will help us to achieve the goal of creating a just and inclusive society, creating economies that work for everyone, and protect our shared environment not only for the present but also for future generations.
The journey of our founder, Ms. Anooja Bashir, has been a testament to her unwavering passion and indomitable spirit. Despite facing setbacks and hardships in the form of two failed startups, she persevered and eventually succeeded in turning her entrepreneurial dreams into reality. In doing so, she not only achieved personal success but also empowered numerous women towards entrepreneurship through her inspiring initiatives such as Anooja Initiatives, which supports women, mothers, and children.
Along the way, Anooja met individuals from diverse backgrounds and sectors of society, where she discovered the intense challenges faced by underrepresented communities such as LGBT community and differently-abled individuals. Driven by the conviction that a platform for these marginalized groups was the need of the hour, Anooja founded NEED, an initiative spearheaded by her primary venture Ourea (Oureansoul Pvt. Ltd.). Through NEED, Anooja aims to foster, enrich, and enable multifarious sectors, paving the way for a more inclusive and equitable society.
She is a true icon who is constantly supporting to empower Diversity & Inclusion segment.
